The Clerk's responsibilities include Council/Committee secretariat, recording all resolutions, decisions and proceedings of Council. Staff prepares the by-laws, the minutes of meetings and the agenda packages and acts as Co-ordinator under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The Clerks Department looks after all public inquiries, public correspondence to and from Council and interaction between Committees and Boards of Council.
